I’ve never really been into Macarons since I grew up around Cuban pastries/coffee and that was “life” for about 20 years. I’ve realized, it’s really time to grow up and try some new things. The past 4 years I’ve been working for a design company where vendors occasionally bring in treats. Thanks to them, I’ve expanded my love for food. Recently, one of our vendors brought in this beautiful little box of colorful macarons and I just had to try
one four. They were so delicious! I’ve tried macarons before and I just wasn’t into them. They were either too hard or the flavor was just off, but THESE… these are heavenly. They are so fluffy, yet crunchy with a soft filling. All of the flavors are amazing (I just can’t choose one). I tried the Vanilla, Nutella, Rose Petal Cream, and Hazelnut. Of course, I found the nearest shop and made my way over there right after work. I picked up a box for my family and was able to try some new flavors. Aside from the ones mentioned earlier, I chose the Venezuelan Dark Chocolate, Coconut White Chocolate, Pistachio, Gingerbread, and Butter Salted Caramel. I was in Heaven!
The lovely couple, Quentin and Agnes Garrigou, are the owners of Janette & Co. They work great together and offer top-notch customer service. The macarons are handmade from scratch everyday by Chef Quentin. They are produced from the best and most natural ingredients with no preservatives; so they won’t last for more than a couple of days (not that they would last an entire day in my household, anyways). These delightful macarons are packaged beautifully in a white box with tissue paper. These make a great gift for a get together, vendor meetings, or for any occasion. They also have gelatos, handmade chocolates, a coffee menu, and a variety of teas. This place is so chic, you almost feel like you’re in France…almost, with a vibrant kick of Miami. These little cloud-like delicacies are very labor intensive and can take several hours. There are only about 5 to 6 ingredients and that doesn’t include the filling. I’ve heard a lot of people say that they are too expensive, but keep in mind quality over quantity. You are paying for these miraculous little bundles of joy! Yes… Joy!
